Blown Fuse for rear light causes non start ?? [solved]
Good Evening All,
I’m an old git in Lincoln, so won’t bore you all with my life story. I am really hoping someone can help as I’m scratching my head.
I fitted a tow ball and 7 pin hook up to my 2009 1.8 Civic. I blew the fuse for the rear lights when carrying out a test (wrong polarity). The key was in the ignition. Fuse has been replaced. No other fuse is faulty yet now the start button does nothing and I have the steering wheel light and engine management illuminated on the dash. Engine light goes away after flashing. No faults show up on my ODB Device.
I’ve read many articles on here yet nothing seems to quite match. I’d be most grateful for any wisdom. The closest I can read is maybe I’ve upset the immobiliser??
The car only has 50K miles so if I have to spend some money so be it.

Those lights might just be on because the engine is off.
Recheck the fuses related to the ignition and starter. Make sure you check them with a meter, there's twofuse boxes. Also check the brake switch. Immobilizer issues should make the antitheft light flash.

Good Evening All.
The problem turned out to be a faulty starter switch. Maybe I blew a resistor when I blew a fuse. Who knows. New switch on order. Old one bypassed to prove its faulty and the car runs fine.
