I bought my 2007 Honda Civic from my aunt, has 31,000 miles. On the dash the a portion of the numbers for the speedometer with short in and out at times, and at that time the gas gauge will short in and out, will actually flip flop the gas gauge. Any ideas?

I would check all grounds first to make sure they are tight and not corroded.

If they are all good cluster might have to be pulled out and inspected.

Ok don’t know much about vehicles but learn quickly and don’t laugh but what grounds will I be looking for....just the ground to the battery or is there more?

The fuel gauge may be loosing its backlighting, very common issue.

When you loose it again, whack the dash above it …...and watch for changes.
