Driver door speaker not working (loose wire maybe)
Driver door speaker not working (loose wire maybe)
Ok so I bought a 2006 honda civic ex sedan and everything worked fine. One day I let the battery die by accident but there is a chance this literally has nothing to do with it. After it died I jumped the car and the driver door speaker wasn't working. A few days later I learned my car battery was bad and wasn't holding charge so I got a new one and suddenly the speaker was working again. A few days later it wasn't working for a few hours. Then for about 2 weeks everyday when I drove to work it wasn't working and everyday on the way back it was. Now it just doesn't work at all. When I fade the radio to the front and left sound still comes out of the small dash speaker but the one is the door is totally silent. I'm pretty sure it is just a loose wire somewhere since the speaker was the right volume and not crackling or anything like that when it was working but I could totally be wrong about that. I'm not a huge car person but would like to know if there are a few places I could check as a total newcomer to see if it's something simple and easy before I go pay money to fix it. Any pictures or descriptions of the wire colors would be greatly appreciated since I'm not very well versed in cars.
Re: Driver door speaker not working (loose wire maybe)
Easy enough to find out.
-remove failing speaker
-connect it to the wires from the good speaker
If it works, the wires have a break in them.
