speaker troubles
i went out and got some new speakers today, i was only able to get 1 in then i had to call it a day, my drill ran out of juice and when it was chargered i ran out of day light. when i first wired it together it worked fine, now that i have it installed and everything put back on the door, NONE of my speakers work. i checked my fuse and its not blown, i dont know what is wrong. a couple of things that are running threw my mind are, the speaker depth is longer than what fits in the door, it sticks out a little and the back of the speaker is against bare metal. or maybe having one aftermarket speaker and one stock speaker could have something to do with it. i dont think its a loose wire cuz wouldnt just the 1 speaker not be working instead of ALL of them? if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks.
First check your depth you could have to deep a speaker and the window is interefering with the wires when rooled up and down plus if your windows are tinted and they rub the speaker in any way there goes your tint( when rolled down of course). Two you could have knocked a wire loose or off when reinstalling door panel. Sometimes i leave the stereo on when reinstalling casue i can tell if i hit something. Having one stock and one aftermarket wont matter nor will having one disconnected. Check fuse then check settings on stereo if all else fails take off the door panel and re advise. If the back of the speaker is hitting the door then you will never be able to roll down your window but it wont effect the function of the speaker. If you have any more qusetion just ask i just put a system in my 2003 with 1200 miles on it. works fine

i am going to say that its touching metal. that would cause all the spearker not to work. cause you would me like grounding out the system. or some bare wires might be touching. i don't think its anything serious

yeah thats what i'm thinking, it must be some wires touching metal but i could of swore i had them all wrapped up, just gonna start from scratch, get shallower speakers and cross my fingers. it makes sense cuz none the speakers work but the headunit work and the subwoofers work fine.
You don't have to get new speakers, just put some spacers between the speaker and the door, raise it up a half inch and it should have neough clearance. you can make em out of MDF, or some ripped apart their old speakers and used them as spacers.
