2009 Civic, Check Engine Code Question
2009 Civic, Check Engine Code Question
Hello. I have a 2009 Civic EX which I'm the only owner of, at 91k miles. For the first time about a week ago, the MIL aka Check Engine light came on.
A local mechanic says that it returns a P1077 code and that the IMRC "wires are torn and missing" and that "a squirrel or some other animal may have got up in there".
It seems to drive normally... though its been less than 100 miles since the MIL lamp came on, which is always on, steady. Should I be concerned in the short-term, driving it?
This may be a bit complex to user-replace; I doubt I'll be doing this myself - is this something to have a dealer do with OEM parts, at a price premium, or a standard local shop type job? Price estimate?
Thanks in advance!

Rodents of all types LOVE wires. I deal with this regularly.
Repair the damaged wiring.
