VSA module, brake master cylinder replacement - anyone had problems?

I'm posting this here because I'm a civic owner and already a member. My son has a 13 CRZ. He took it to Honda to have the brake master cylinder replaced because it failed the annual inspection for a gummed up master cylinder. He had no problems with the brakes, no lights on the dash. Honda replaced the master cylinder and now says that there is no brake pressure, pedal goes to the floor. They say that the VSA module needs to be replaced for $3000!!!!! Brakes worked fine when he took the car in, now they wont work with a NEW Honda master cylinder. I talked to a Honda mechanic I know and posted this on the CRZ forum and no one has heard of such BS.
Has anyone had any issues with Civics and the VSA module?
