Scratching Sound When Turning Wheels
Scratching Sound When Turning Wheels
For the last week, my 2007 Honda Civic sedan has been producing a loud scratching sound whenever the wheels are turned. This sound is only prominent when the vehicle is started after sitting for a few days, and then fades away as it is driven around. I suspect that the issue might be a worn O-ring on the power steering pump, allowing air cavitation to form in the system, but I wanted to get a second opinion. I have posted a link with my vehicle making the noise, take a look and let me know what you think.
Re: Scratching Sound When Turning Wheels
No way because of air. There is little chance air gets in through O ring, it leaks in that case. Open reservoir and you’ll see if there is any micro bobbles in there. Anyway, video doesn’t work.
