What is missing?

Was changing bulbs an noticed this oddly clean hole, turn the car on and it looks like something should be there

Might be where the vent cap for the transmission goes. I’m not that familiar with that engine.

Trans dipstick, vent cap is plugged and the dipstick gets popped out
