Look at the top hole on the dipstick that will be the maximum oil level. Making sure check you oil with engine off and parking on a level ground. For more details, look at your civic owner manual

Ok...So what happens when it's over filled.???...I checked after the engine has been off for a long time so the oil was settled and it was still over the top hole?? Like I said before...it's about a 1/4 qt over...Should I worry about it??

1/4 quart probably won't hurt. If you get like over a quart then your oil starts to foam up and you don't get good lube.

I remember when my sister put so much oil in her car that the oil was spilling into the breather tube and into the intake. That thing smoked like crazy and ran like @ss.

Betwean the holes is optimal. If it's over, then the crank shaft will slap the oil as it turns and it will foam up like silverdevil said. Plus the car will be harder to start. Going over will just put strain on the engine and it will be bogged down. You might be okay, but you might lose power while cornering or braking or stepping on the gas. Anything that will make the oil come up higher on one side. Imagine reving to redline and cornering. The oil will suddenly hit the crank case and it'll be like it's hitting a brick wall. I don't know what happens in this situation? I'de have to search for some articles about it...

If I were you I would leave it alone, .25 qt won't hurt. Beside, it is kind of hard to drain .25 qt only. Make sure check your oil level for the next oil change before you leave the dealer

I saw a kid open his oil fill hole on a Type R and he had an instant oil geyser...was pretty funny, but serious if the oil is hot and you burn yourself..keep it between the 2 holes!!
