Transmission shaft

This is the damage done by a bad throw out bearing on my 2007 civic si, would I need a new tranny?

How deep is that groove? There might be a repair shaft you can buy

Not sure, mechanic didn't specify, he just said it might be salvageable if he smooths it out for the new bearing to go in, I really can't afford a new transmission right now. Do you have a link where I can get the shaft alone? Thanks

That is the mainshaft, part number 23210-PNS-020. Like $350 from a parts website but far from a simple swap.

Used trans would be about the same amount of money and alot easier to change

Hey just curious if you figured out the problem as I have the same issue... I heard there was a clutch retainer base repair sleeve available somewhere.. Yes, appreciate any information, thank you.

Now that I look back at the picture, isn't that the actual clutch case that's damaged and not the mainshaft?
