Anyone Install Tranny Imput Bearing??
I have the classic bearing failure on this 99 Civic DX,I noticed last week I now hear it at idle,goes away when the clutch is pushed in.
A re-built tranny is about $1100,only major problem I have is this bearing,im now@ 250K miles.I do have worn sync`s,if I hurry up-shift I get a grind a couple times a week.
I`m pretty handy with the tools,haven`t been in a tranny,considering following the Sticky,and splitting the cases&installing the bearing.
Can anybody that`s done this talk me into this job?
I`m also assuming I won`t be anywhere near the synch`s doing just the bearing,and replacing them would be the job that needs the clearances set,bearing puller(may need this for the imput bearing)&hair pulled out&etc.
