car started making fun new sound

Alright so I drive a manual 2006 Civic EX, about two days ago I was coming home from work and while I was driving, I heard a noise and my car suddenly would not go into gear. It was stop-and-go traffic so I had time to turn the car off and restart it, and magically I could get into gears again, so at least I wouldn't have to perfectly rev match all the way home.

however, ever since then there has been a strange sound when the car is in low gears (1st - 3rd), it is very rhythmic and how fast it sounds depends only on the car's speed, not the engine rpm.
When driving, the noise will only be present if the car is fully in gear, it goes away in neutral or when the clutch is in.

when stopped, there is also a very slight noise when the clutch is out that goes away when pushed in, though with how subtle it is I get the feeling that this part may be normal.

The car still seems to drive normally, shifting gears is fine and acceleration is as smooth as normal for a civic, but I'd just like to know what the problem is and what I'm in for.

I tried to record the sound with my microphone but It didn't come through much if at all. here is the recording anyway.

Update: while driving just now I noticed shifting to 5th gear felt very mushy, and fiddling around with the shifter can change how bad it feels

The car drives seemingly fine right now and the clutch feels no different than it did before, so I don't think it is that. As inexperienced with mechanical problems as I am, I still get the feeling there's some kind of misalignment in the drivetrain, considering the brief inability to get into gear when the problem started and the finicky shifting, so maybe there's a bad bearing somewhere.

Fair, I'll be bringing it to a shop in a day or two so I guess I'll find out soon enough
