So my nephew has an 08 civic lx I believe, 1.8, AT. He pulled into work, after work no crank. We just got hit with ice so I had it towed to my body shop today. First time seeing the can I put it in neutral for the tow truck and noticed there was no dot lights next to prndl on the dash. Not sure if it's the neutral safety switch or what. Of course I forgot to try to start it in neutral. But on other things his temp gauge all of sudden went dim. Any one help me out or dose the car need to running to have the lights next to which gear it's in?

I did also it did not indicate reverse or neutral

Solved, hooking up a scan tool brought back communication, basically lost communication f-can. Ended up being broken ground from engine to body. Hope this helps someone
