I have a ‘12 Civic Ex with 164k miles. Starting since 100k miles I have been having issues with acceleration. It was so bad at one point it wouldnt maintain 30mph in city. I took it to a local shop where my crank sensor was replaced. The acceleration improved to were it was road safe, but not when the car was before where you could feather the gas and the car would respond quickly.

now the car is noticeably slower/hesitant to accelerate. If i slammed the gas on the highway, the rpms would jump after an entire two seconds and would accelerate at most 15mph in the next 10 seconds. I have spray cleaned the MAF, checked intake boot for tears, tried fuel treatment, replaced air filter, sparkplugs, and ignition coils & still having problem.

I have noticed issue is not as bad when gas tank is fill.

I used to religiously have econ mode on but now it drives like if it was on even when turned off. Oil changes at every 3k miles now. haven’t changed transmission fluid in the lifetime of ownership. Was wondering what could fix my problem. No CEL, any advice? Thanks

Check the air filter? Spark plugs?

take to a shop or dealer if the throttle is not working - could be electrical/electronic issues between pedal and throttle control - i think it does not use cables anymore
