Rep Power: 0 How to read ECT2 sensor using ODB-II reader?
In troubleshooting a thermostat issue (P0128 trouble code), it's recommended to check the ECT2 sensor as the car warms up to see if it stays closer to 60 degrees vs raising with ECT1.
I have no trouble reading the Coolant temperature as a whole but can't seem to get it to show the ECT2 sensor temperature.
I do see it's possible to add a sensor however I don't have the proper PID info to add to read the ECT2 sensor.
Tools used:
Veepeak ODB-2 bluetooth adapter
Car Scanner Pro (on iPhone)
Honda Civic LX 2011
I've been able to kind of measure the temperature of ECT2 using a laser thermometer but since it's way under things it's tricky to get an accurate measure.
At this point this is mostly to learn how to add the sensor as I'm 90% sure I'll be replacing the thermostat.
