squeak sound on cold start + bad engine mount + abs light always on
Bought a civic recently that is now my daily driver. 155k miles on it and I got a hell of a good deal for what it is.
car: 1.8 i4 2008 civic ex coupe (155k miles)
General condition: needs oil change soon, needs trans fluid change soon, bad scrape on one rotor (irrelevant), power steering pump is showing early signs of failure, passenger engine mount collapsed
This is my third week with the car, so far I have noticed very little wrong with the car. It needs serviced though. I have noticed that on cold start, sometimes I will hear a squeak after the car finishes cranking, if I recall correctly, I have heard this once while I was on the road as well. I have no info on the condition of the vtc actuator and I haven't even opened up the valve cover.
I did notice another strange sound at one point while driving, although this has only occurred once. I heard a whirring noise, which almost sounded like a supercharger, which sounded like it was coming from the ac vents (although I am not completely sure)
If anyone has thoughts on the cause of these noises, or any info on the engine mount situation, I would appreciate your input

Re: squeak sound on cold start + bad engine mount + abs light always on
I suspect the whining was coming from the radio.
Your car doesn't have a VTC actuator. The noise you're hearing is a bad timing chain tensioner. Your timing chain has possibly stretched as a result, depending on how long it's been doing it.
Do all the mounts at the same time. If one failed, the rest aren't far behind.
Not much else I can think of off the top of my head. I'll edit if I think of anything.

Serpentine belt and tensioner should probably be changed

And I've got no clue on how long its been doing that on start, as I said its new to me. if I'm cracking the seal on the valve cover I might as well get to some other maintenance as well.
She's due for some service. Still, for 4k I couldn't be happier with this car. So far on my list for the upcoming service is accessory belt, accessory belt tensioner, chain tensioner, brake fluid, power steering fluid, trans fluid, oil change, and mounts. Can you think of anything else that I should service?
I'm saving the suspension for later because I don't want to slap in the same oem parts that aren't going to give me that ride experience that I want
