8th gen 2010 civic - not starting
Hi looking for a bit of help. Basically ran my car to low the other day which caused it to cut out and has yet to start even after pitting 5l of fuel in afterwards. What could be the issue? I've read it could be the fuel pump/filter/air-lock etc. I'm a relative noob but could with my hands, can anyone please advise. 2010 Honda civic 129,000 miles, 1.8 petrol vvtec. Thanks

If you ran it out of fuel you might have to prime it several times.
turn the key to the II position so you can hear the fuel pump come on. Then turn the key off. Turn it back to position 2 then off. Do this 5 or 6 times to get fuel to the fuel rail.

No check engine lights and uve probably only done it once prior. I can hear the pump prime when I turn the ignition on, would it still prime if burnt out?

I would see if I could get it to start by spraying some starter fluid down the intake. If it fires up then you know it is fuel related and you can go from there diagnosing.
