Oil around number 2 coil pack

2006 Civic 1.8 lid engine. Engine missing on number two Cylinder pull coil pack and found oil on it. Bought new valve cover gasket it came with seals. Took off valve cover as it shows on you tube but there is no place for the seals to go. 1.7 has seals in the cover but 1.8 does not. do I have to put the head to fix the oil around the coil pack? Thank you for your time. Melvin1942

Re: Oil around number 2 coil pack

The only spark plug tube seals are on the ignition coil packs, and they're not designed to keep oil out. Due to the offset design, the tubes do not come up through the top of the valve cover like in older engines. If there is oil in your spark plug tube, it's like caused by a leaking valve cover gasket. Replace that first.

We changed the valve cover gasket. Now we will wait and see what happens.
Thank you for your help.
