Longer cranking when warm

Hello,

I have a 2006 civic, manual transmission, about 150,000 miles. The past month or so, after the engine is warmed up, it takes about 2 to 3 seconds of cranking to start the engine. (When the ambient air temp is above 70 F) When starting from cold, it takes about 1 second.

Battery voltage is normal and cranking speed sounds normal.
Alternator output is around 13.8 volts, idle.
There are no other engine performance issues.

I am thinking:
1. Collectively, a few of the spark plug coil packs are experiencing heat related reduced voltage output and/or increased resistance.
2. The crankshaft position sensor is failing with the heat.
3. If there is a secondary injection fuel pump that is failing with the increased temperatures. I am not sure if the fuel pump that supplies the fuel at it’s designated pressure to the injectors is electric or operated by the camshaft.

Looking to gather thoughts from this community.
Thank you, Jason.

Should be just the one pump in the tank, if you leave the key on for a few seconds before cranking is it better?

When is the last time the plugs were replaced? Fuel pump is electric. Like Colin said try leaving the key in the ON position for a few seconds or cycle the key ON - OFF - ON then start to see if it gets better.

Thank you, I will try the key on procedure. However, I have never had this longer cranking before. I am concerned there is a component that is experiencing a slow deterioration.
