So my wife has a 2012 Honda Civic, and about 6 months ago it started having trouble starting. It's had it's regular oil changes it's whole life and it's other wise in great condition. We take good care of it, and it's a family car so we never abuse it. It has had the TPMS light on for a year now because the unit it defective and hasn't been replaced.
So this happens off and on. Sometimes with 2 weeks between the issue sometimes a day.
What's happening is, when we start the car it'll take a bit longer then usual to turn over. Then when it turns over the radio screen and dash will show; (dash lights: engine light, traction control light, and sometimes power steering light. The power steering will also be locked up when that light comes on.) The radio display reads, Check Emissions System, Check VSA, and occasionally Check Power Steering.) As noted before TPMS light has been on for over a year now. We've just never replaced the sensor.sensor. I've included a photo of the dash here.
Also I recently replaced the Crank Shaft Position Sensor with a brand new one as I read that might have been the issue. But I guess it was not.
