Dreaded P2647 vtec code
Dreaded P2647 vtec code
So I've searched and searched on this and couldn't find the answer
2006 Honda civic 1.8l
Back story - light came on and cruise stopped working and car wouldn't turn over 3500rpm. I scanned it AND THE ORIGINAL CODE WAS P2646 ROCKER ARM OIL PRESSURE SWITCH OPEN/CLOSED
Oil was a bit low and had 4000 miles on it so I Changed oil, cleared code. Light came back on within 45 seconds, same code, same symptoms.
Next I cleaned vtec screen/valve and put back together. Same code came back with same symptoms.
Next I ordered new vtec valve from a online site. Not oem from Honda.
Installed valve, cleared code. Light came back on within 45 seconds of driving with same exact symptoms BUT CODE IS NOW P2647 ROCKER OIL PRESSURE SWITCH HIGH VOLTAGE /VTEC STUCK ON.
All wiring looks good. Oil good, car stumbles once in awhile but overall runs fine up to 3500rpm then wont turn anymore. What should I do next. Thanks

Re: Dreaded P2647 vtec code
Get rid of the aftermarket part, go pull one from a junkyard if you don't want to buy a new OEM one. Double check that the wiring is ok.
how low was the oil?
