06 honda civic ex coupe
Hello,
My car battery died recently, I put a new battery in and i couldn't find my keys anywhere. Come to find out my 2 year old put them in the sink and got them wet. I tried to start my car after drying them and now my car turns on and then shuts off and has a green key light flashing. My key remote key still opens and unlocks car. Don't know what's the problem

The immobilizer isn't recognizing the key any more probably because it got wet and the chip is now damaged. Got a spare that didn't get wet?
Otherwise you need new keys that have to get programmed to the car. Or you might be able to bypass the immobilizer, its relatively easy on the older cars not sure on the 06

Again on the older cars, the immobilizer would only cut fuel you could turn on the ignition and crank but it wouldn't fire. This seems like what your car is doing. Get someone to spray something flammable in the intake while you crank it. Like brake or carb cleaner. Or just live with the valet key, just won't be able to use it to open the trunk, but you can use one of your normal keys for that
