My car is a Civic 2015 EX 4-door.

So, I did the oil change at local Honda dealer and they forgot to put back the metal plate that covers the engine block under my car (mid April), and I only realized this 2 weeks ago and have them installed those plates back yesterday (6/12).
- Before yesterday (probably 6/10) I noticed my car shuddered when in reverse, or when i was putting my brake.
- 6/12, they installed the plate, and the manager said they sprayed something. Car does not shudder anymore when in reverse.
- It is now really slow in acceleration (1-2 seconds after I press the gas pedal) and it sometimes goes off while driving (with battery light and oil light turned on, but I already replaced battery recently). I had to shut my car off and started it again and it's good for 1-2 miles and the slowness comes back.

May I know what happened?

The skid plate has nothing to do with how the engine/transmission run.

It's there for aerodynamic fuel savings, and to keep the engine bay clean.

Is it a red oil can on the dash or something else? Does it come up while the engine is running?

Hi,

Yes, it's the red oil can, and no, it does not come up when the engine is running. It only comes up for about 1 sec when the engine shuts off, and then turned off back again.

I told the symptoms to a friend who is a car mechanic and he said that it may be a transmission failure. I will be going to the dealer again to thoroughly checking it, but before that anybody knows if that's true? I hope I don't have to pay several thousands to fix it....
