You should be able to wash it off. You do need to reapply it after a few rain showers. I remember you first tried it about 2 months ago. Have you put on another application since? Maybe thats whats causing the streaks. :shrug;

Ever try the penny in coke trick where it supposedly eats at the coin? I left one in coke for three days and not a scratch on it...and I tried a new one and very old one to boot...I think these are all rumors to tell you the truth...

Man i thought i was the only one, i though i was getting very picky about things!!!
I used rain X on all my windows when i first bought my car, and for the first week it kicked, but then it started making my wipers skip like crazy and that got very anoying then after like 8 months my wipers started smearing on the way down rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh
You see i put it on my wifey's SUV too and it did the same thing so i figured it has to be the rain X. So i bought the hole wiper steal thing and everything (pairs) at canadian tire for her SUV and i evenualy when to honda to get some wiper rubbers, (the rubbers are just the rubber peice that touches the glass) for me. It's cheaper and it easier to change, then the whole thing
and now they work like a dream
so my concution is rain x kicks *** but just don't use it on the front windsheld or were you have wipers
PS. My rain X that i put on for all the other windows on my civic it's still kinda there witch is good cuz it's still working abit

Well I've been using it for over 38,000 miles and I still have my OEM blades. I've had streaks but you just gotta reapply the rain-x.
I love it.

Yeah, Rain-X does suck. You have to be going real fast for it to really work anyhow.
To remove Rain X from the glass try using the Clay bar. You can rub the clay onto the windshield when you are washing the car with soap. Rub the entire window down with the clay. This will remove the Rain-X. After you wipe the car dry and you do your windows. Make sure you use Window Cleaner. The window cleaner will get rid of whatever Rain X is left on the glass.

the eating of a penny was with older variations of coke....
but nowadays it still eats away at things..but it's much more mild...it was in fact a class science project back in HS, we'd take old teeth and put it in coke. weighing it on one of those super fancy precise scales...and over a period of a week....the tooth does loose quite a bit of weight.
this is on the rainx website:
How do you remove Rain-X® Glass Treatment from exterior glass?
Rain-X® Glass Treatment can be removed from exterior glass by using either Rain-X® Glass Polish (Under "Glass Cleaner") or Bon-Ami Cleaning Powder or Soft Scrub cleaner. (Bon-Ami Cleaning Powder is sold at True Value Hardware Stores and Ace Hardware Stores. It can be obtained by calling Agelong Catalog at 1-800-892-8022. If you cannot find this product, Bon-Ami Cleanser - a different product - can be used, only if you add enough water to make it a "soapy" solution). If you require further assistance or have any additional questions, please call 1-800-416-1600.

Ok guys I might loose all your respect on this I am a rain X user have only used my wipers maybe a dozen times. but coke does remove rain x . but on a side note I have used the c lay bar on my windows with a wax that comes with the Auto Armor enviro protection kit "paint protection" and it does thesame thing as rain x without streaking(doenst last as long though). . And Rain X is a fine art I think because if you have to much on it streaks and if you dont have enough then you have to go to fast for it to work
