Clayed My Car Today
All I can say is WOW. Paint is as smooth as it has EVER been. I had never used clay before (i was always a little skeptical) It didn't take that long either. Now she's all ready for her winter wax.
Any suggestions for the winter coat?

As far as winter wax, I usually use Nufinish. I put 2 or 3 coats on.

use it for claying the entire car, or spot claying small stuff. Don't use it on heavy tar or tree sap, use a bug and tar remover to loosen it up and get rid of some b4 you try claying. Don't clay an oxidized car either, your clay bar will fill up quickly(polish it out first with an abrasive polish, then clay afterwards to make the paint smooth as glass).

I would use two coats of NUFINISH after you clay the car and you should be fine for the winter. I would avoid automatic car washes and try to have your car washed at a hand wash place or a detailing shop. Automatic car washes dull the finish and strip the wax that is on the surface.

Meguires is not really a good winter wax...If you are applying a winter wax, I would go with NU FINISH, or FINISH 2001
clay bar
I just clayed my car again and man is it smooth. I put down the 3 stage meguiar cleaner, polish, wax and damn it looks silky smooth and very wet. If you have any doubts about claying your car DON'T! Its very easy to know if you need to clay your car. Once you wash your car run your hands over the car is it smooth to the touch. If not then go get a clay bar I got the mothers clay bar and detailing spray and it works wonders.
I have the Meguiars 3 step. So should I clay my car first and then go on to the 3 steps or should I do like the step 1 the cleaner and then clay and continue with 2 and 3 or in which order am I supposed to use it. I've clayed my car before and damn it makes my car look smooth.
nufinish is the one that lasts the longest.........i have HONESTLY tried every single wax known to man that costs under $30.......and NOTHING lasts longer than Nufinish...i'll be waxing mine twice as soon as it stops snowing here in cleveland!
I usually dont wash my car since it rained every damn day this yr so what was the point in washing. I used to detail my car once a week last yr but i guess i got lazy this yr( because of rain). i might try that Clay bar, but i just love the color Silver on my car cause it looks clean even though its been a LONG time since you've washed it. I got SOO many compliments everywere i went and my car is stock (well besides the 03 Si rims and some silverstars). So Nufinish is How much ?? I'll do that at the first of the yr .
