7th Gen possible builds and first Honda questions.
So, I heard that I can put a Y8 intake manifold and Cam into my D17, I need to know if this is true. Also, I want to know if I get the VTEC head for the D17 off of the EX, if I can still use the Y8 Cam and gear. I'm very mechanically inclined and can work on all of my own stuff, this is just my first Honda. I also want to know if coilovers and suspension components will work on 2001-2005 civics or just 04-05 which mine is. Let me know please, or let me know if I should just hold out and K swap or with the K20A3 you could bet stock with this car. I have a 2004 Honda Civic Sedan, LX 1.7l with the 5speed manual

-D17a1 with a2 head is easy, many diys on it.
-y8 manifold needs modification, before it will bolt up
-prevolious camshafts may fit with modification, not sure.
-coilovers, of course
-kswap up to your goals/budget

a little clarification on the coilovers. You're gonna wanna find a set that are made for 03-05 and not the 01-02. Only difference is gonna be the size of the crash bolt. 14mm in the 01-02 and 16mm in the 03-05
edit: and more on the K20A3. It didn't come in the EM2/ES1 (coupe/sedan) chassis, only the EP3 hatch chassis. It is able to be swapped in, but modifications and custom mounts would be required for the swap. Well, kinda custom mounts.. Hasport makes mounts that mount the K20A3 under the hood of an EM2/ES1, and they were like $500-550 last time I looked
