EX sedan k20 mods?

Will soon get a hold of 7th gen ES Civic with K20A3 on it. It will be the SEA version that comes with the K20 5spd A/T 155hp from the factory. What engine mods should I start with? I know A3s are not like the A2s in terms of perfomance. I need recommendations on what route of modding should I take.

The first thing that comes to my mind is swapping a EP3 Si ECU + transmission. Any recommendation for the engine mods? Tia

Re: EX sedan k20 mods?

As far as I know you'd make some additional power with an intake, header, and exhaust but not much. If you want to make real power you'd have to turbo or swap to a K20a2/K24a2, both of these would require swapping to a manual transmission as well.

You could swap an EP3 ECU and transmission, you'd also have to worry about getting a clutch. This won't get you any extra power but will get you a manual.

7th gen is 2001-2005 only the ep3 hatchback has a K20 engine for that year.

The others are D17 engines.

....

Auto is 4 speed
Manual is 5 speed

Yes that's for the market here in US.
This model is exactly what I'll have 7th gen 2.0

The problem if i get an intake, header, and exhaust is I don't know if the stock ECU of this Asia market Civic is tunable by Hondata or Kpro. If that's the case, my only route is to do full EP3 drivetrain swap + ecu.

Re: EX sedan k20 mods?

I'm confused what you even have. Your original post stated you have an ES Civic and a K20a3, I assumed you meant you have a four door sedan with a K20a3 and auto transmission swap. Do you actually have a EP3 hatchback?

For reference these are the ECUs compatible with Kpro. 2001-2005 Civic DX, LX, HX, and EX require using an ECU from another K series engine.
