These guys retrofitted a D16Y8 cam onto a D17A2 head.
You would need to swap your D17A1 head to a D17A2 head I think.
Parts needed:
AEM Adjustable Cam Gear (used with K-Pro)
D16Y8 rocker tower assembly
D16Y8 camshaft
Opens your options to the crower staged cam series.

You actually need to buy two AEM cam gears...one for D17 and one for the D16y8 and swap out the centers.
Unfortunately, AEM no longer makes the D17 cam gear.
I'm currently working on a prototype center gear for our AEM cam gear to utilize the d16y8 cams....because i didn't want to spend the extra 100 bucks for only the center.
