Re: Wanting an faster Honda

Get a K-series (Si) engine swap and a turbo, with all the supporting mods. People have done it before. You need to do the research if you're serious.

Re: Wanting an faster Honda

Can't put a B series in a 7th gen. Well someone has but for emissions purposes your not suppose to.

K series price depends on location, mileage, condition and what it comes with. Check local yards.

Re: Wanting an faster Honda

You are looking at about half the value of your car to build it to keep up to other cars.

You won't need as much power to pull down a stang or camero if your power to weight ratio is better.

If a 2010 v8 Camero is sitting stock at 3750 pounds and 430hp. that's a power to weight ratio of 0.115.

To keep up you could drop down to 2300 pounds and shoot for 265hp that would give you a 0.115 power to weight as well.

265 isn't actually that hard to hit.

The cheapest way would be to buy everything second hand and strip out the rear interior. Stage one turbo Crower camshaft and a light 8psi build.

or go with the swap and turbo and you can hit some high numbers since the stock k24 sits around 210-220hp (can't remember off hand), then boost that. But that will be a lot more money.

Re: Wanting an faster Honda

^ya guys he has a1 DX model. is it possible to use camshafts set up on that? or only with a2 engine head swap (as on EX models)?

if you go turbo check out Dezod.com their turbo headers look nice

sry dont kno much on the turbos except alot members usually run low psi.
you wont be able to keep up with v8's without turbo or engine swap as far as i kno...i think with alot of money and building of the engine some1 got around 140's hp naturally aspirated. sounds like d17 turbo set ups running 140-170'shp.

someone i read on this forum a long time ago who had sponsers got up to high 200's hp on turbo D17 but im sure almost everything was aftermarket and tuned like crazy

you rebuilding manual or auto transmission?

Re: Wanting an faster Honda

AAHHHhh good call Mateo! Sorry I never consider the d17a1 since I've always had an A2.

Generally you are looking at $2000 if you install everything yourself and use used parts; and get it tuned at a shop, at least here in BC.

I'm sure I've forgotten a few items but you should be looking for the fallowing and researching what each part does.

Used Parts

ecu: $300-500 (emanage blue, AEM FIC)
ecu harness extension: $50
3 bar sensor: $50
boost gauge: $20
injectors: $100 (for 4 pulled from an rsx-s)
bov: $50
wastegate: $50
turbo manifold: $100
turbocharger: $300
turbo oil return lines: $50
intercooler: $80
charge piping: $80
spark plugs: NEW $30
Exhaust system: $200

Tune: $500-$800

plus tools if you don't have any or plus labor fees if you are having someone else do the install.
