CVT or MT?
I've been running KTuner v1.2 (v2.0 is exactly the same tuning map, you just get a fancy *** touchscreen with it, and doesn't require a laptop/computer to flash/unlock) for... 18k miles now (first uploaded tune with 11,668 miles, currently shy of 30k on my car) with no issues. +6PSI is the max I've seen recommended for the CVT, while +9 for MT. It's not quite the 50hp increase (actual is around 25hp), but it's safe and definitely wakes the car up. I can tell you my '18 sport hatch CVT is faster than a stock Si coupe, so take that for what it's worth. I'm also still getting 32-33mpg average combined city/highway
As far as best ones, KTuner and Hondata are definitely the two that people would say to get that will deliver actual results in a safe manner. KTuner, IMO, is better bang for buck, plus the availability of off the shelf tunes available for it (twostepperformance, phearable, to name a couple -- in addition to the included KTuner maps) I've heard are good. The reason I say KTuner is better bang for buck is the v1.2 is that it's only $450 and the V2 is $650, whereas the Hondata is $650, and you're effectively getting the same as the v1.2. If you're in California, Hondata is the only one with an available CARB legal version. If you go with KTuner, I'd recommend getting it from two step performance since they include their stage 1 tune for free ($80 value) when you buy from them. Free 2-day shipping, too. They didn't have their non-Si tune available when I bought mine, but it is what it is.
I went with V1.2 because I have a laptop that I can use to flash, and the KTuner App for a whopping $5 lets me flash one of 5 stored tunes (requires a laptop to upload the tunes to it), and gives me the telemetry I want. I currently have mine set up to monitor AFR, boost (at manifold), IAT1 (MAF IAT reading), IAT2 (pre-throttle/post-IC IAT), knock control, and the skin I'm using also gives throttle position (gas pedal position), RPM, and speed, as well.
The only failures I've seen with Tuned 10thgens have been on cars with custom tunes, pushing 25-30psi, flex fuel, driving like they're re-enacting Baby Driver

I should also note.. Tuning options for the 10th gen are no longer chips like hondata kpro or s300 that you actually have to solder onto the ECU board. The ECU is, for a lack of better words, rewritable from the factory, so these tuning options save a copy of the OEM tune while simultaneously locking the tuning unit to that ECU and flashing the upgrade tune. It'll flash back to stock when you unlock the unit.

It depends entirely on the tuning system used. The JB4 is a nice alternative to flash tuning that gets you similar power gains without the permanent traces left behind when removed.
