Touching up Paint chips

Well, the inevitable happened to my car, I park in a garage at work, with all sorts of people coming and going all day long, and I always try to park as much out of the way as possible, but I KNEW eventually some dumb@$$ would ding my door, so I have paint chipped down to the metal on the passenger door. There is no dent though. I went and bought some paint at the Honda dealer, so I have the exact paint I Need. The question I have is what is the best way to touch up small chips like this? Just dab it on in one glob, or in smaller/lighter applications? Has anyone done this yet? I can't find anything on searching, except on door dings, and there is nothing there about paint. THanks!!

I'm thinkin layers...also make sure that you get a little plastic/rubber scraper handy, that way you can sorta keep the new paint level with the old stuff....good luck bro

RedDragon333 will become famous soon enough
Whatever you do use lyers and take your time...itll be worth it in the end....you take something small like a FINE paint brush and layer it in then let it dry then another layer then let it dry and try to smooth it all out once your about to finish...then if you can get ahold of some clear coat to go over the last layers so it looks like new....i would have a body shop touch it up for you ask your dealer who they use and then go to them

If you do it the way the body shops do you'll need to wet sand it to.

yeah the duplicolor website does it right..so now u have to buy a primer and a clearcoat to go along with the base honda paint.....take your time and make sure to sand well cause it will show through if u do not
