Yet another Immobilizer thread
Yet another Immobilizer thread
A friend of mine has a 2005 Honda Civic LX. The ignition key cylinder started sticking (wouldn't turn) until one day it just would not turn at all. Her uncle said that he could fix it and took a hammer and chisel to the ignition switch. When my friend called me to see if I could fix it, I said sure. Well, I get there to find pieces of black plastic everywhere. The ignition switch, the inner and outer immobilizer rings. Seeing the damage, I told her that I would order a new ignition switch for her, which I did. The Amazon housing that I ordered came with everything except for the "outer" immobilizer unit, which I also ordered.
Today, I went to install and program it (Autel MaxAP200). The problem is that it won't program the keys or the immobilzer because it says there's an issue with the MICU, and to run a reprogramming on it. That also fails every time. I looked through everything and saw no cut or damaged wiring (I was actually surprised about that), no blown fuses, nothing. I followed a chart on troubleshooting the MICU and everything is perfect EXCEPT for the IMO.
What am I missing?
