Honda civic 2003 abs/airbag code
Honda civic 2003 abs/airbag code
Hello i have a 2003 honda civix lx.
when i changed to a spare tire it triggered my abs light. When i switched to a regular tire it never reset the light.
my air bag light has been on since iv purchased the car.
fast forward iv decided to find the problem of these without a dealership. I did the bobbypin jump on 9&4 on odb2 to read the codes.
problem is im not sure if im reading them right, i believe the air bag is 9-3? And the abs is 12&13 does this look right?
also if you happen to know what the codes means thats a bonus.
Thanks

Re: Honda civic 2003 abs/airbag code
stop by any car parts shop. They have code readers.
however, there are chances that they might not have honda specific readers (SRS unit codes falls into that category)
airbag (SRS) could be seatbelt buckles - commonly known issue.
Please don't post on the root 7th gen section, you have a mechanical issue, should go at the least into mechanical section. Moved your thread to proper location.

Re: Honda civic 2003 abs/airbag code
SRS 9-3 appears to be for the driver seat belt buckle switch. I was able to take mine apart and clean it, been working the last ~8 years since then. If you Google "Honda SRS fault 9-3" you'll see lots of results.
ABS 12 is for front right wheel speed sensor pulse signal. Service manual says it can come up when only one wheel spins, the vehicle spun, or electrical noise. That code should go away once the car is driven above 31 mph.
ABS 13 is for front left wheel speed sensor open. Is any of the wiring at this wheel damaged? You could try clearing the fault and see if it comes back.
