Noises but having trouble pinpointing

I have an 05 Civic ex special edition. Lately I've been having issues. I first started hearing a clicking when braking but only during slow and soft application of the brakes. Under 25-30 mph is when it will but but if I apply them with more pressure which I try not to do. It doesn't click or pop when turning only does it when applying brakes. Sounds like caliper slide pins, or shims, or pads possibly installed wrong or something along those lines. Tomorrow I'll be taking the wheels off to check before buying anything. But also now the car has started feeling like it's handling different. I've checked out most of the suspension and I've had bad CV axle on my 01 Civic before. And nothing is broken or snapped. And over bumps it kinda groans I guess your could say? And I've done the push down on each corner only one tight bounce and it stays. Recently had alternator installed and they had to remove the power steering pump to do it. I've been having to add fluid but idk how that would make it feel looser and like it's not stable. As life can go everything at once. All bushings are good and no excessive play on the wheels when jacked at 9-3 12-6 . I'm trying to figure out the best place to start bc I can't do all at once but I will eventually get it all done. Any help please I've looked and nothing matched what I'm heading m feeling and hearing

Re: Noises but having trouble pinpointing

My low-tech solution I still use to this day is to take a few magnetic note holders, zip tie them onto 12 5/8 vinyl hose, put one end right next to something that can make the noise and use the magnets to route the hose into the passenger compartment.

Putting the other end of the hose to my ear as I test drive the vehicle allows me to rule out / pin point exactly where the sound originates.

You can run multiples hoses if you want to reduce change of setup time between tests.

More than once It was suggested to me to use a low friction coupler on the hose so that if it fell or got wrapped up in a moving part it wouldn’t yank me out the car with it..
