Power steering return line

I have a leak in my power steering return line. I have no place to get parts right now because its sunday and tomorrow is a holiday. Has anyone ever tried to repair that line with rubber hose and clamps. Will it work or is it to much pressure? Thanks in advance.

Re: Power steering return line

The return line that runs from the rack to the reservoir is not under significant pressure, it's just dumping fluid back into the reservoir with no restriction.

I'd be comfortable with using bulk hose from a parts store, provided it is the correct size and an oil resistant type of hose.
(Look at the return hose sections that are already there, use something comparable.)
I've done this in the past on other cars, because of rusted pipes.

Use good hose clamps.
