Ok.. here's the story.. i had a little problem with my strut bolts a little while ago because they got a little loose and make my front end vibrate.. i drove around like that for a little while because i didn't know that was the prob and was going to take it in. But now that that's all tightened down, my car is extremely gittery.. i mean i can't take a turn without my front end vibrating all over the place causeing my car to hop and skid a little. it's very very jumpy on turns and bumps.. for that i mean turns with bumps.. i looked at my struts and there is no leakage of oil or anything of the sort. This only started happening after that little incident with the strut bolts.. any suggestions???? thanks

Let a mechanic take a look, or let them take it for a drive. It's the only way you will find out for sure. There's too many things that can throw off the suspension that guessing wouldn't do much help.

Why would it cost $40? Just take it into your dealer and say that you think something is wrong with your suspension. If it's a real warranty issue, you won't have to pay anything for it.

yeah.. but it's lowered... and i have a feeling that the dealership around me is going to be a pain about that.. and then when i have them check it out and they find that it isn't under warranty.. then i'll have to pay the dealer for looking at it.. which isn't cheap... man i wish i could just fix this myself.. but i have no idea what the problem would be..

Ya, you're right... that lowering will definitely void your suspension warranty. In that case, I wouldn't take it to the dealer, cuz they always rip you by the hour. If you know a small private garage, that would probably save you some money.


edit: this is why I'm hesitant to do any suspension mods until after my bumper-bumper warranty is up.

Do you have adjustable Konis or just the OEM shocks? It's not a good idea to lower your car with aftermarket springs and use the stock shocks..
If you have Konis, it is possible you have them dialed up too much in the front which will make the car NOT handle well and the car will be jumpy on turns and bumps. If you have the stock shocks, your ride will be very bumpy as well because the shocks can't hanlde the spring's oscillations. Who installed the lowering springs? Take it back to them, unless you did it yourself. I have also seen people install the springs improperly in the strut base (the round metal plate the spring sits on) where they weren't all the way in and were moving around. I hope that's not the case because this can become dangerous if you keep driving the car. Do you hear any noises or just have some vibration? I think you may have to take everything apart again and do it over again very carefully. Sounds like something is not seated properly or came loose over the period when the strut bolts were not tightened down properly.

thanks.. that's a good idea to take it back where i got them installed, i have the stock struts and chances are something got shaken loose.. this way, it won't cost any money since it's taken care of by the shop...
