rusted brake lines

i am working on my daughters 2003 civic the brake pedal went to the floor so upon further inspection the steel lines for the rear of the car are rotten under the master cylinder where they are secured together. i want to splice a new line in but just after the rusty area the lines have a plastic sheath around them all the way to the rear of the car its not the thin layer of polymer coating but a protective cover i think. can this plastic be removed so i can make the flares or do i have to make new lines front to rear also are the lines going into the abs module bubble flare or regular double flares...thanks lee

Re: rusted brake lines

I would just run new lines all the way back fitting to fitting. Use the copper-nickel stuff, and I believe they're bubble flares. Take a peek at the ones below the master cylinder and see what type of shape they're in
