Question A different Idle issue

Hi Guys I've been through and cant find this issue, I've done the idle reset process and that has not helped.

However I had erratic idle and replaced the Idle control valve now the idle is smooth and stable EXCEPT: after I come of the gas the idle sits at about 2K and stays there until the car comes to a rest (Complete stop) then the idle stays high for a few seconds then drops to 700 and stays there.

It does not matter if the car is rolling even a couple of KMpH out of gear (manual) the idle stays high until a dead stop is reached.

Thoughts?

No, I used an after market one. It works in all other respects. And the fact that the car rolling seems to have an effect make me think its some sort of speed sensor issue ..??...

A good read:

TL;DR Used an aftermarket IACV and it gave him problems.

Honda's are picky when it comes to electronics, grab an OEM one from a junkyard, give it a good clean and try that. Will be cheaper than a new oem

Ill; give that a try. yes I was quoted hundreds of dollars from the Stealership for one. The aftermarket one is much more affordable.

But if it doesn't work then it's not more affordable, it's throwing away money

Try an online dealer. Can save as much as 20% compared to local dealers. Majestic Honda or Honda Parts Cheap. Junk yard is a good option also.

Like Colin said Honda's are particular about electronics. They like OEM parts as most modern cars seem to prefer.

Ill have to hunt around online and in person guess.

The one thing I don't get and would love some thoughts on is that the car seems to know it is rolling (out of gear) and keeps the idle high until it stops then drops it.
Is there a speed sensor and circuit that may be contributing?

Note: never seen an engine check light other when starting the car.
