Re: Erratic idle problem

A little more help everyone please! I took my car to the Honda dealership. They said the only thing they're showing is the iacv. I've replaced it twice already so I'm thinking the ecu is faulty. How difficult is it to find the correct one and have it programmed to my car?

Re: Erratic idle problem

Try car-parts com used parts. Get same ECU as your car's model and /or VIN number.
Check for a part number on your car's ECU as well.

Re: Erratic idle problem

No not yet, I want to check for wiring issues with the idle control valve first. The Honda dealership said it wasn't working but I've replaced it twice. I just haven't messed with it.

Re: Erratic idle problem

Hey everyone. I've been down for a couple of months from a broken foot so I haven't messed with my car lately. I'm back at it now. I've narrowed my idle issue down to either a wiring issue to the iacv or a faulty ecu. I would like to test the wires first. Can someone walk me through the best way to check for a faulty wire. I know very little about electrical so try to dummy it down for me lmao. Thanks in advance

Re: Erratic idle problem

More info please!!!!! I need to figure this out. I failed to mention that when I took my car to the Honda dealership it also threw a code for the ELD ( electronic load detector). Does anyone know if that would cause the IACV to stick open?

Re: Erratic idle problem

I replaced the ELD and it did not fix the problem. I guess I'm just going to replace the ecu. Are you experiencing the same problems?
