04 Civic, trouble bleeding new clutch hydraulics
I had my clutch stop working and I could only get into first with the car off. I limped her home and found very watery grey clutch fluid. Bled the system but it didn't fix anything. No visible leaks, so I assumed an internal master/slave clutch cylinder failure. I ordered the parts and removed the old equipment. Found some fluid inside the slave cylinder pushrod boot, so it seems like that was the culprit. I went on to install the new slave cylinder, master too since it was original and at 100k it seemed time, especially given the fluid quality. Once everything was installed I tried to bleed the system with the bleeder in the slave cylinder. No joy here. I couldn't get the master to suck fluid from the reservoir. I read that I might need to bench bleed the master. Its a pain to remove and replace given where it is on this gen (tucked into a little hole beside the brake booster). I took it out, removed the line, tilted the line side up and pumped the rod a few times until fluid shot out of the line port. I thought that was an indicator of a good bleed. I reinstalled the master but I still cannot get it to suck fluid from the reservoir and continue the bleeding process. I don't know where to go at this point. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

You're not alone. Here's a related thread with some info.

Re: Hard time bleeding clutch
I was directed at this thread since I have similar issues. However, my problem is getting any pressure at the pedal whatsoever. I used a motive systems power bleeder and it was able to push fluid out the slave bleeder valve. However, I still have no pedal. I originally tried bench bleeding the master and got fluid out of the line port, but nothing when its in the vehicle. I realize most of these issues were in the bleeding process down the lines, but did anybody have issues at the pedal/master?

I think you are better off asking here in your own thread, since you were told to read that old thread.
Leave old threads there to read, ask in your own thread.
