I’m in the process of rebuilding a BMXA automatic and attempting a mainshaft clearance inspection per Honda service manual. The procedure has you assemble some of the parts from the shaft and measure the clearance between the second gear and third gear with a feeler and if out of spec you need to use a different thickness of thrust washer.
While the service manual procedure references three thrust washers (E,H, and L) on the mainshaft, the official Honda parts breakdown only calls out two, a third washer is shown, but does not refer to it as a “thrust washer”. Is this third washer used to take this measurement?
