Clutch not working.

I issues with my 02 civic..i just replaced the clutch and reinstall everything in the reverse order and when i got done my clutch pedal doesn't have any pressure to it..i took the tranny off again to make sure everything was ok but still nothing. I bled the line using half a bottle of brake fluid and still nothing changes..i dont have any leaks from my master cylinder or slave cylinder. You have any idea what could causing this?

Re: Clutch not working.

Sounds like you got a big bubble of air in the system.

You might have better luck getting the air out if you unbolt the slave and the lines going towards the passenger strut so that you can raise the slave above the lines.

Keeping the piston locked in just takes a few rubberbands wrapped around the slave base and the piston to keep it pulled in.

Pull a vacuum on the Slave bleeder and just barely crack it open, the threads will allow air to enter if you loosen it up any past that.

Someone told me they put the entire slave in a coffee can full of brake fluid to keep air from gettin in via the bleeder.

Re: Clutch not working.

I bled the system for about half hour until i can see no more air coming from it ..but it was only me doing it.
It seem like post my questions in places where they shouldn't..i always try to look for the topic of the nature of my questions but i dont see any so i just post my questions in the general section. Or if its a mechanical problem, i post it in mechanic topic. But i dont see any topic about Clutch Bleeding
Install new clutch ect. So if you can tell me how to find topics for the questions i want to post i will appreciate it.

Re: Clutch not working.

Let the moderators worry about where your posts are, you need to get your car working!

Doesn’t matter if you bleed the line for 10 seconds or 10 hours, if your not getting the air out, it’s not going to work.

Not sure you really can do that correctly by yourself without a vacuum bleeder. What were you doing, just using the plunger on the slave?

Clutch

So in stalled my clutch and everything seems fine except the pedal feels soft ,a mechanic said its ok but i dont like how it feels, maybe because its my first time feeling a new clutch.the clutch that i replaced seems to be the stock one its more stiffer than aftermarket one, also i only pay $70+ for the pressure plate and friction disk.. I used 2 bottles of valvoline clutch fluid to bead it until i see no bubbles in the line. I used a bottle with a clear tube with fluid in the bottle and insert the tube down in the fluid and the other end on the valve of the slave cylinder and bled it myself..the pedal feels soft and has a pitch to it when almost reach to the floor and when its release it pushes my foot back so fast and it intend to stall the car.. Could it be that it need more pressure to it to get rid of the softness and those pitches that i mended earlier, if so ,how can i get it to have more pressure to it after i bled it for so long.?

either slave cylinder bad or you need to bleed it or clutch delay vavle
