Manual transmission is leaking fluid somewhere.

I changed the axles a little over a year ago and I dont think it was leaking before that. I was trying to fix a popping noise that ended up being the lower control arms. Yesterday, I replaced the drivers side axle seal, thinking that would fix the problem since there was tranny fluid dripping down onto the cars subframe from there. Drove it about 50 miles and checked and it's still leaking. It was such a pain in the *** to change the seal and still have it leaking on me. Any suggestions?

Did you use OEM seals?

Here I was thinking the likely aftermarket axle possibly was undersized, corroded, or the splines were not de-edged and cutting the seal on installation.

The axle seal can also be installed too far into the transmission causing a leak.
