Can’t Shift Into Gear
Can’t Shift Into Gear
I have a 2001 Honda Civic with a 5 speed transmission. I have only owned the car for the past 2,000 miles and have no idea what has been done to the car. The other day I was driving down the road and went to down shift to turn onto another road and didn’t have a clutch. The pedal was very spongy and I could not shift into gear without forcing it in. I checked the slave cylinder on the car and the boot was tore up so I figured that was my problem. I’ve bleed the clutch several times now and can get some pressure back on the clutch pedal but it still doesn’t exactly feel right. It’s got pressure on it but sticks alittle then comes back up. Could it be something in the actual transmission such as the pressure plate or is there any trick to bleeding the line that I just don’t know about?

Re: Can’t Shift Into Gear
it's really hard to bleed the clutch, pick up a vacuum bleeder, or get some one to help you. did you put in a new slave?
