Manual transmission swap for 01 civic. Please help or share experience!
Like the title says, I'm swapping the auto in my 01 es1 for a stick. I found one online for 250 from an 04 lx with 54k miles. i've read the thread about swapping auto for manual, but i wondered if anyone here has done it and if they have any more advice or wisdom to add. thanks!

Not done it, but unless you buy a crashed donor or something it will cost way to much to even make it make sense. You need the tranny, pedal assembly, master cyl and lines, different ecm, programming, a new cluster (not absolutely needed, but you will have a manual with PRN etc. The axleshafts are different too. I am guessing the body to trans mounts are different as well, not sure on that one, but it would make sense....
The most cost effective way to do all that would be to buy a totalled car on the cheap or something...

well so far i've got the trans, subframe, axle, starter, and shifter console, for 650. i found the clutch, all lines, seals, and all hydraulics for 300. so i figure another few hundred for flywheel, flash etc. i read that the auto trans motor wiring will work with the stick as long as i flash the ecm.
