Transmission problem

I have a manual transmission and when i shift to 3rd gear at about 3k or higher it grinds. I want to know if i went out and got a new clutch, if it will stop the grinding? I don't know how this happened, my girl friend took the car home from college which is a 2 and a half hour drive and then back today and it started grinding. Any help would be good.

Change the fluid and see if that helps at all.

teach yer girl how to drive stick before you change it.. ... ...

and then once you change it.. yes it will stop... unless you ignore the first part about fixing this.. then the next time yer girl drives yer car she will break it again....
