Metal coolant hose keeps coming loose
Metal coolant hose keeps coming loose
I have an 02 LX and on the passenger side of the engine near the thermostat housing there is a metal coolant hose/pipe that keeps coming loose. I put a new o-ring on it and I pushed it in as hard as I could but it still finds a way to come loose causing me to overheat, and ideas on how to get it to stay?

Here's a link https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-...iagram=4215716 to coolant parts that includes a diagram.
Is the metal pipe you are referring to Pipe B (part# 19504-PLC-000) labelled as 11 in the diagram https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...4-plc-000.html ?
Is the O-ring (part# 91314-634-000) labelled as 21 in the diagram https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...4-634-000.html ?
Here's a related thread https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...-out-help.html
Did you buy a Honda Genuine (oem) O-ring or an auto-parts store aftermarket O-ring? The dude in the video below states he used an aftermarket o-ring and it started to leak after three weeks. He replaces it with a Honda genuine (oem) O-ring and it solves the issue.

Re: Metal coolant hose keeps coming loose
Didn't see any other replies... I just did my head gasket and decided to replace that O-ring (with OEM part). Put it all together and found that coolant was spraying from that pipe where I put the O-ring. Took it apart, didn't see anything wrong, and put it back together. I realized that it came apart too easily as I really had to pull on it before to get it apart the first time.
Long story short, when you put that pipe back in, make sure everything is clean and push that pipe in until you feel it pop. That's the O-ring seating. Once I did that no more leaks.
