Has anyone added a dimmer switch for the dash lights?
If so, how?
My aftermarket radio has an input for gauge lights, if i supply 12v to it, will it dim the radio?
Any help, ideas, positive input appreciated.
Typical negative input like why, it's stupid, etc, not appreciated.

The dash lights (HVAC controls, OEM radio, dash gauges, etc.) should be controlled by the dimmer switch on the gauge cluster. For aftermarket radios, however, we've historically seen more bad happen (frying instrument clusters is a common one) from hooking up the orange dimmer wire on the radio harness, so we tell people to not hook that wire up.

Dash lights are dimmable from the factory.
Don't hook up the aftermarket dimmer wire, some decks you can program the dimmer based on the time.
