Aftermarket alarm going off

Aftermarket alarm going off
My 03 civic ex has an after market alarm and it goes off if i disconnect and reconnect the negative side of the battery. the key fob also stopped working

that is what it is supposed to do.
Did you replace the batteries in the fob?
