Help with alarm. 2005 civic sport

Hi there my civics battery died a couple of days ago and every time I try to charge it my alarm goes off. My key phob doesn't seem to be unlock the car to disengage the alarm. Any one had similar problems or even better a solution?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Stock fob and alarm in the car, not aftermarket?

Connect battery with the doors closed.
Let alarm go off if the fob doesn't work.
Unlock drivers door with key.
Get in and turn the ignition on with the key.

Thanks I'll try disconnecting battery. Yeah stock fob stock alarm. I've tried using key to lock and unlock and tried the transmission. But as the battery is dead it won't start up. Does the engine need to start up or is turning key to second position enough?

Of course you need a decent battery

Check your owners manual for more alarm instructions

My theory:
If the battery dies while the car was locked and alarm armed, it will go go nuts when it "wakes up" (powers up using a charger or jumper cables) and realizes the door is unlocked and open. You have to get it powered up long enough to get it disarmed before it will shut up.

You could pull the horn relay out so it isn't so damn annoying LOL
